Dr. Pega Hajian was born and raised in Southern California and earned her undergraduate degree from UC Irvine before completing her dental training and General Practice Residency at UCLA, where she met her now-husband and practice partner, Dr. Nico Salavaggione. Her path to dentistry started a little differently than his: she'd always wanted a career in healthcare, but it wasn't until she shadowed her cousin, a practicing dentist, during her last year of college that she knew for certain this was the right fit.
Dr. Pega focuses on the everyday dentistry families rely on most, including fillings, crowns, and straightforward root canals, and she's especially comfortable treating children, seeing patients as young as their first visit around six months old. She's upfront with parents about what to expect. Some kids settle in right away, others need a little more time, and she's always willing to try before ever recommending a referral to a pediatric specialist.
Dr. Nico Salavaggione was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to the United States with his family at age ten, living in the Midwest, on the East Coast, and in California before settling back in Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The Ohio State University. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he met his now-wife and practice partner, Dr. Pega Hajian.
Dr. Nico's interest in dentistry grew out of a simple realization: he liked working with his hands, and he wanted a career that blended that hands-on, artistic side with real clinical medicine. That combination has shaped his focus ever since, with particular attention to endodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. He's especially drawn to guided implant surgery, a more precise, technology-assisted approach that he's shifted to after years of freehand technique, not to replace his clinical judgment, but to make good outcomes more consistent and predictable for every patient.
